Zinc Plated Steel Nyloc Nuts

A popularly employed hexagon nut incorporating a nylon insert to help prevent loosening when fitted. Typically fitted with a spanner or ratchet and socket.

Nyloc nuts are also known as nylon insert nuts and are a type of prevailing torque nut or locking nut.

When tightened onto a bolt, the bolt will cut a thread into the nylon part, making it less likely to loosen. The nuts can be reused but their tightness deminishes each time they are used and generally over long periods of time due to creep.

The nut can also be used to assist sealing the bolt thread against seepage of oil, water, petrol, paraffin and other liquids. The nylon insert makes the nut unsuitable for high temperature applications.

This page features our current range of nuts that feature a nylon insert in metric, UNC and UNF thread forms.
