Serrated Washers

Serrated washers increase the friction between the bolt, screw or nut and the mating surface to help prevent loosening under vibration.

In electrical installations the serrations or teeth of the washer dig into the mating surface to provide an electrically conductive assembly.

As with all serrated fasteners the mating surface is scratched or marked during assembly which can, on painted or coated surfaces, increase the risk of corrosion.
