12.9 Black Oxide Coated Steel Flange Bolts
The flange bolt is a hexagon headed bolt or screw incorporating a flange which, in certain circumstances, negates the need for a washer.
Flange bolts are a more attractive and sophisticated alternative to their DIN 931 and DIN 933 hex driven counterparts.
Typically used where the flange offers protection for the bolted component and where the driving tool may otherwise scratch its surface.
Generally manufactured with a full thread, though occasionally some stock may include a partially threaded shank.
Supplied either serrated under the head or plain/flat. The serrated variant reduces the likelihood of loosening due to vibration.
